Abstract

This study aims to find out how the Center for Food and Drug Administration supervises the circulation of illegally imported food products in Pekanbaru City, as well as to find out what are the obstacles in monitoring the circulation of illegal imported food products by Center for Food and Drug Administration Pekanbaru City.The research method used is a qualitative research method. The types and sources of data are primary data and secondary data. Research informants consisted the inspection substance group coordinator and the enforcement substance groupcoordinatorof the Center for Food and Drug Administration Pekanbaru, as well as supermarket/mini market business actors.Data collection is done by using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used is descriptive data analysis with a qualitative approach. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: (1) Supervision of the circulation of illegally imported food products by Center for Food and Drug Administration Pekanbaru City has been quite effective. This is because in the supervision, implementation standards are set, measuring the implementation of real activities, comparing the implementation of activities with standards and analyzing deviations/violations, as well as taking corrective actions if necessary; and (2) the inhibiting factors in Supervision of Circulation of Illegal Imported Food Products by Center for Food and Drug Administration Pekanbaru City, namely the demand from the public for illegally imported food and the lack of public participation in reporting the existence of places where illegally imported food products are sold.
