Abstract

That the use of Information Technology plays an important role in trade and national economic growth to realize the welfare of the Indonesian people. Errors in information caused by sellers of E-commerce goods, such as goods that do not match the description, must be held accountable, but the reality on the ground is that when consumers complain, they are not treated in good faith. The main research problem is how to protect consumers against online transactions based on Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Online Transactions, and what are the obstacles in obtaining consumer protection for online transactions based on Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Online Transactions. The research method is empirical legal research or sociological research, namely legal research that uses primary data. while its nature is descriptive, namely where the author describes in a clear and detailed manner the problem to be studied.The sampel in this research was 24 people consumers. The date collection techniques used were interviews and questionnairs The research results show that consumer protection for online transactions based on Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Online Information and Transactions cannot be implemented properly because online business actors have not provided complete and correct information so that many consumers still experience discrepancies in purchasing goods due to not seeing the condition of the goods offered, and obstacles in getting consumer protection for online transactions based on Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Online Transactions are due to online transactions that do not bring together those who have online businesses and direct buyers and where consumers cannot see the goods what is actually desired (in actual form and conditions) this can make it difficult for consumers to obtain protection for online transactions of promised goods.
