Abstract
ThepurposeofthisresearchistoanalyzeandexplainhowtheeffectivenessoftheuseofsocialmediainthecityofPekanbaru'spopulationandcivilregistrationservices.PublicserviceisthefirstframeworkofembodimentintheimplementationofE-government.However, there is still a lack of responsiveness from service providers insocialmediautilizationprograms.Sothatinthisproblemconductedresearchwithquantitativemethods.Wheretheresearchlocationwascarried out in Pekanbaru City withsaturatedsampling techniquesandpurposive sampling. In addition, primary data and secondary data wereused in questionnaires, observations, documentation and interviews in thisstudy. Based on the research that has been done by researchers, it can beconcludedthattheEffectivenessofSocialMediaUtilizationatthePekanbaru City Population and Civil Registration Office is in the QuiteEffectivecategorybecause:Inthisimplementationofficersstilllackcomputers so officers must use their personal laptops, and need to do thisincreasing the responsiveness of officers in providing services throughsocialmedia,wherecurrentlythereisstillfrequentaccumulationofmessagesthatmakethestandardservicetimetargetsnotruninaccordance with standard operating procedures. Therefore, the PekanbaruCity Disdukcapil needs to ensure information and prioritize the budget forcomputers and accept apprentice students to help admin and be able toverifysocial mediaaccounts.
