Abstract

The phenomenon that seems clear at this time is juvenile delinquency which is carried out both in the family, school and in public places. Judging from the school environment that school is a place where individuals get education or knowledge that will shape these individuals into good character and personality, but there are still students who commit acts that deviate from the existing rules. One of the influencing factors is the level of delinquency in adolescents, namely self-efficacy as an internal factor. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy on juvenile delinquency at SMA X Payakumbuh District, with a total sample of 150 people. The sampling method in this study used Incidental sampling method. Data collection techniques used a scale of affiliation needs totaling 40 items, self-efficacy totaling 40 items, and juvenile delinquency totaling 37 items. Data analysis used Partial Least Square (PLS) with smartPLS 3.0 M3 software. The results of this study show that the effect of self-efficacy on juvenile delinquency is not mediated by the need for affiliation with a path coefficient value of -0.044 and a p value of 0.151 > 0.05 and a calculated t value of 1.437 <t table.
