Abstract

This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of ketepeng cina (Senna alata) leaf extract in inhibiting the growth of the bacteria A. hydrophila, E. tarda and E. ictaluri and to determine the concentration of the extract which is the best in inhibiting these bacteria. The method used was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 2 replications namely P1 (10% concentration), P2 (20% concentration), P3 (30% concentration), P4 (40% concentration) and P5 ( Concentration 50%). The results showed that ketepeng cina leaf extract contains antibacterial compounds, namely alkaloids, saponins and steroids/terpenoids. The inhibition of ketepeng cina leaf extract on the growth of A. hydrophila bacteria, a concentration of 10% is in the moderate category and concentrations of 20% to 50% are in the strong category. Inhibition on the growth of E. tarda and E. ictaluri bacteria at concentrations of 10% to 20% in the moderate category and concentrations of 30% to 50% in the strong category
