Abstract

This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of matoa leaf extract (P. pinnata) in inhibiting the growth of the bacteria A. salmonicida, E. ictaluri and V. alginolyticus and to determine the concentration of the extract which is the best in inhibiting the growth of these bacteria. The method used is the experimental method Using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 2 repetitions namely P1 (10% concentration), P2 (20% concentration), P3 (30% concentration), P4 (40% concentration), and P5 (50% concentration). The results showed that matoa leaf extract contained antibacterial compounds, namely phenolic compounds, flavonoids, saponins and terpenoids. The inhibition zone of matoa leaf extract on the growth of A. salmonicida, E. ictaluri and V. alginolyticus bacteria with respective concentrations ranging from 10% to 50% was included in the strong category.
