Abstract
Primary School Teacher Educatin Study program. FKIP Islamic University Riau. Mentor: Zaka Hadikusuma Ramadan, S.Pd., M.Pd ABSTRACT The religious character of students is very necessary in the character of a student with the implementation of extracurricular reading the Koran will add to the character of students. The motivation given by the teacher will make him always enthusiastic in achieving learning goals. Formulation of the problem of how to implement extracurricular reading of the Koran as instilling religious character in class VI MI Darul Falah Langgam Pelalawan. The aim of the research is to describe how the implementation of extracurricular reading of the Koran as the cultivation of religious character in class VI MI Darul Falah Langgam Pelalawan. The theoretical basis is the implementation of extracurricular reading of the Koran as the cultivation of religious character. This research is field research. Data collection methods are observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis technique uses a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study are that the implementation of extracurricular reading the Koran as a religious character inculcation by the teacher to students of class VI MI Darul Falah Langgam Pelalawan looks good and is instilled in students, students have started to be able to pronounce the makhrijul letters correctly, are already able to understand the science of recitation in al - the Qur’an, already artful in reciting, able to distinguish tartil and recitation rhythms, and recite short surahs in carrying out prayers according to the legal rules of tajwid. Mentors use teaching methods in the form of lecture methods, discussion methods and demonstration methods. The research suggestion is for teachers to always change their learning methods or strategies in motivating students seen from the conditions and circumstances when learning.
