Abstract

This research is motivated by the many code mixing that occurs between traders and buyers in the Kubang Jaya market, Kampar Regency. This is due to several things, one of which is cultural differences in the Kubang Jaya market, Kampar Regency. The problems in this research are: (1) what language is used in the code-mixing incident in the conversation between traders and buyers at the Kubang Jaya market, Kampar Regency. (2) what are the forms of code mixing used in the conversation between traders and buyers at the Kubang Jaya market, Kampar Regency. The purpose of this study is to describe code mixing and the form of code mixing in the conversations of traders and buyers at the Kubang Jaya market, Kampar Regency. The approach in this research is a qualitative approach with content analysis method. The data in this study are the conversations of traders and buyers at the Kubang Jaya market, Kampar Regency, which contain code mixing. The source of the data in this study were all the conversations that took place between traders and buyers at the Kubang Jaya shock market. Observation data collection techniques, recording techniques, note-taking techniques, listening techniques. The data analysis technique used is a content analysis technique using Bungin's theory (2017: 231). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that 80 data contained code mixing was found. 1) mixed Indonesian code with 21 data, 2) Minang language with 48 data, 3) Malay with 4 data, 4) Javanese with 2 data, and 5) mixed with Batak language code with 5 data. Forms of code mixing 1) Mixed code insertion of words as much as 64 data, 2) Mixed code of insertion of phrases 10 data, 3) Mixed form of code insertion of clause 3 data, 4) Mixed form of code insertion of idiom 1 data, and 5) Mixed form of code insertion repeat word 2 data.
