Abstract
Novels that have high value do not only contain interesting stories but can also contain character education values which can be a tool to make Indonesian children have high character education values. The points contained in this abstract consist of research problems, research objectives, research methods, databanalysis techniques, research data valiidity techniques, theories used, data and data sources, data results, and conclusions. The problems in this research are What is the value of character education in Griven H. Putera's novel The Man Bringing the Shroud? This study aims to analyze and describe the value of character education contained in Griven H. Putera's novel The Man Bringing the Shroud. This study uses descriptive methods, data analysis techniques content analysis techniques and data validation techniques triangulation. The theory used in this study is the theory of Sukantin and Al-Faruq (2020). The source of the research data is the value of character education from Griven H's novel The Man Bearing the Shroud by Griven H with a total of 118 pages. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the value of character education contained in the novel The Man Bearing the Shroud by Griven H. Putera on the religious aspect found 20 data with indicators of piety, gratitude, iffah or taafuf, husnu dzan, al-munfikun, trustworthiness, sincerity , trust, carry out God's commands and stay away from His prohibitions. The respect aspect was found in 9 data with indicators of getting along with people well, respecting them wherever they are, using polite language when speaking and greeting. In the aspect of caring, 8 data were found consisting of indicators of mutual understanding of the suffering experienced by someone, paying attention or ignoring something, tolerance among others, and helping to solve other people's problems. In the aspect of responsibility, 2 data were found consisting of indicators of responsibility for the family. Then the value of disciplinary character education was found in 4 data with indicators of compliance with various provisions and rules and respecting time.
