Abstract

The theory used in this research uses the existence theory according to Dagun (in Gracia Destari Mujianto and Eko Raharjo, 2019: 129) with indicators of work activity, having facts and efforts to maintain existence. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method and the data sources obtained are based on the results of observation, interviews and documentation. This research was carried out at the HKBP Church (Hurian Batak Christian Protestant) Senapelan District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The subjects in this study were 8 people. The results of this research are 1) in terms of the work activities of the Pekanbaru Saxophone Community, it is becoming increasingly well known among the public because it is still displayed at large events and is marked by the practice schedule and performances of the Pekanbaru Saxophone Community, 2) there are facts, the Pekanbaru Saxophone Community is recognized for its existence. has existed from the past until now and is always invited to large family or government events and the music used is also widely known and in demand among young people in Pekanbaru City, 3) the efforts made to maintain its existence, the community and government of Pekanbaru City increase solidarity and create innovation - an innovation that really attracts the attention of all groups so that it can increase public interest, especially among young people, in preserving the Pekanbaru Saxophone Community.
