Abstract
Citronella plants are one of the highly prospective agricultural commodities but have a low selling price. To increase the sale value, the process of distilling citronella leaves into citronella oil must be carried out. This study aims to analyze: 1) the Characteristics of entrepreneurs, workers, and traders as well as business profiles, 2) the Citronella oil agro-industry business, and 3) the Marketing of citronella oil. The research was conducted in Siabu Village, Salo District, Kampar Regency from May to October 2022. The method used in this research was a survey method. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative, quantitative and statistical analysis. The results showed that the characteristics of entrepreneurs, workers, and traders were in the productive age category, 12 years/high school education, most of them had experience and a relatively small number of dependents. This citronella oil business has been running for 4 years and is a home industry, the initial business capital is Rp. 64,185,000 and uses a workforce of 0.84 HOK/production process. The production technology uses the direct steam distillation method with a capacity of 300 kg. The citronella oil production process starts from weighing the raw materials to packaging the citronella oil. The raw material for citronella leaves averages 300 kg/production process using other input materials, namely 0.80 m3 of firewood/production process and 0.20 m3 of water/production process. The total production cost is Rp. 291,832.69/production process. Total production 3 Kg/production process. Gross income of Rp. 450,000.00/production process and a net income of Rp. 158,167.31/production process. The efficiency of citronella oil agroindustry is Rp.1.54/production process. RCR>1, means that the citronella oil agro-industry is efficient and profitable. The added value obtained is Rp. 667.22/kg with an added value ratio of 44.48%. There is only one marketing channel, namely from producers to collectors, then to wholesalers, then to exporters (final consumers). The marketing function performed consists of purchasing, selling, storing, transporting, processing, financing, risk sharing, and providing market information. Marketing costs include transportation costs and packaging costs. Marketing margin of Rp. 35,000.00/Kg. Marketing profit of Rp. 29,177.33/Kg. Marketing efficiency in the citronella oil agro-industry is 3.1%, which means that marketing is classified as efficient.
