Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors of student learning difficulties in learning the Serampang Dua Belas dance cultural arts in class VII MTs Negeri 3 Pekanbaru, Riau province. The theory used according to Blassic and Jones which states that learning difficulties is the presence of a distance between the expected academic achievement and the academic achievement obtained (2020: 43). And theory according to Siti Mardiyan considers learning difficulties as a condition in the learning process which is marked by the presence of certain obstacles to achieving learning outcomes (2020:44). The research method used by the author is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that on the characteristics/characteristics of students, students experience difficulties in learning the Serangpang Dua belas dance. On the learning attitude factor, the results show that students have difficulty learning the Serampang Dua belas. On the motivational factor to learn the results show that it is not motivated which results in students having difficulty learning dance. On the learning concentration factor, the results show that it is difficult for students to concentrate when learning dance. On the factor of exploring learning outcomes, the results show that students find it difficult to explore the results of learning dance again. In the self-confidence factor, the results show that students do not have self-confidence. On social environmental factors, the results show that students are swept away by the seduction of students who have no interest in dance. On the curriculum factor, the results show that students are confused by the curriculum implemented by the school. On the facilities and infrastructure factor, the results show that the school does not facilitate the learning media of the Serampang dua belas dance art. With this, it proves that students have difficulty learning the Serampang Dua belas.
