Abstract
Structure of Income, Expenditure and Welfare of Rubber Farmer Households in Kuantan Hilir District, Kuantan Singingi Regency". Under the Guidance of Mr. Heriyanto, SP., M.Sc. Increased income affects the community's ability to improve nutrition because this income level greatly influences the welfare of farmers. This study aims to analyze: (1) characteristics and profiles of rubber farmers (2) income structure of rubber farmers in Kuantan Hilir District (3) Expenditure of rubber farmer households (4) Welfare level of rubber farmer families. The sampling technique was carried out by simple random sampling. Based on the preliminary survey, the total population of rubber farmers was known to be 615 people consisting of 16 villages, the researchers took 5 villages as samples. 10% of the sample was taken from each village because according to the researchers, 10% of the sample was representative of the population. So that the number of samples taken in this study were 33 rubber farming owners. The analytical tool in this study is descriptive analysis. The results of this study are: (1) Characteristics of farmers such as the age of rubber farmers with an average of 41 years, the length of education of rubber farmers with an average of 7 years or equivalent to junior high school, The largest number of family members of rubber farmers is 2 people. Meanwhile, the biggest rubber farming experience is for 7-10 years with a total of 16 people. While the business profile, the average land area is 2 ha, the land status is privately owned, the average business capital is 14,000,000, the production is 5,000 kg and the productivity is 500 kg/cultivation. (2) The highest structure of rubber farmer household income is sourced from rubber farming and non-rubber farming income. Meanwhile, for non-farming it is lower. This proves that farmers prioritize work in rubber farming compared to work outside of farming. (3) The biggest expenditure for rubber farming households in Kuantan Hilir District, Kuantan Singingi Regency with a percentage of 52.33% comes from food expenditure which consists of expenditure on: grains, tubers, side dishes, vegetables and fruit, other consumption and tobacco /cigarette. (4) The level of welfare of the rubber farmer household means that the per capita/month income of the rubber farmer household in Kuantan Hilir District, Kuantan Singingi Regency is greater than the Per Capita Income from BPS Results of Kuantan Hilir District in 2020. This shows that the rubber farmer household in Kuantan Hilir District, Kuantan Singingi Regency their income is large so that they can meet their needs both for food and non-food consumption, so that rubber farming households can be said to be prosperous.
