Abstract
Modified Cakar Ayam system (CAM) is a system of pavement used on soft soil that can distribute settlement uniformly because the stiffness of the system. CAM is a development of the system Cakar Ayam (CA) which was proposed by Prof. Sediyatmo. Some analysismethods of CAM deflection has been developed. This paper will apply the equivalent modulus of subgrade reactionfrom Puri, et al (2012)method to calculate the deflection.The safety factor (SF) was varied. Slab deflections input in analysis were based on obserbed deflections. Deflection was calculated by Beam on Elastic Foundation method and then validated by obserbed deflections. Results show that SF’s values can influence the calculated deflections. Calculated deflection tends to increase by increasing the SF. SF = 1,0 was sufficienly for analysis because calculated deflections were closed to obserbed deflections. Calculated deflections were based on single-pile row and the observed deflections were based on three pile rows.Hence, the calculated deflections were on safety zone. The calculation method by using equivalent modulus of subgrade reaction can be used for prelemeniry design of CAM system.
