Abstract

The independent curriculum is a curriculum with diverse intracurricular learning. The independent curriculum is designed to be simpler and more flrxible to make it easier for teachers and students. In its implementation, the government gives full authority and responsibility to each school to develop a curriculum that suits the needs and culture of each school. This study aims to find out and describe what obstacles teachers experience in implementing the independent curriculum so that research schools can determine the right steps to solve the obstacles experienced by teachers in implementing the independent curriculum. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive method. Data collection using interviews and literature reviews from journals containing independent curriculum. Data analysis uses the Miles model which has three steps, namely, 1) data collection, 2) data verification, and 3) conclusion. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the obstacles felt by teachers in implementing the independent curriculum include the lack of government socialization about the independent curriculum, lack of teacher preparation to switch to the independent curriculum and learning resources are still glued to textbooks dan guidebooks.
