Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the interaction and main effect of cricket manure and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of cayenne pepper in PMK soil. The research was carried out in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution No.113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The research was conducted for 6 months starting from February to July 2022 using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely the first factor was cricket manure consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 50, 100 and 150 g per polybag and the second factor is the dose of NPK 16:16:16 consisting of 4 levels namely 0, 5, 10 and 15 g per polybag, each treatment consisting of 3 replications to obtain 48 experimental units. In the experimental unit there were 4 plants and 2 plants were used as observation samples which were taken randomly to obtain 192 plants. Parameters observed were: plant height, flowering age, harvesting age, number of fruit planted, weight of fruit planted, weight of fruit per fruit and number of fruit left over from planting. The research data were analyzed statistically and continued with the 5% BNJ test. The results showed that the interaction of cricket manure and NPK 16:16:16 had a significant effect on plant height, fruit weight planted, number of fruit plants and the number of fruit left over with the best treatment being cricket manure 150 g/polybag and NPK 16:16:16 15 g/poly bag. The main effect of cricket manure had a significant effect on all observation parameters, the best treatment was the dose of cricket manure 150 g/polybag while the main effect of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer had a significant effect on all observation parameters where the best treatment was the dose of NPK 16:16:16 15g/poly bag.
