Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the interaction effect of hydroponic altitude and vertical growing media on the growth of Chris Green lettuce with a solar hydroponic system. This research was carried out at the Dokagu UIR Housing Block b No. 2, Air cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. during August to September 2022. The design used in this study was the Split Plot Design (RPT). The main plot is the height of the gutter as the main plot and the second factor is the various types of planting media as subplots. The treatment of various types of lettuce consisted of 4 treatment levels and the altitude position treatment consisted of 4 treatment levels, so there were 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications. Thus this study consisted of 48 experimental units. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, plant economic wet weight, dry weight, and root volume. If the F count obtained is greater than the F table, then it is continued by carrying out a further test of the Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the 5% level. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that: the interaction effect of hydroponic height and planting media has a significant effect on all observed parameters except plant dry weight. The best treatments were all hydroponic heights and growing media for kale roots and cocopeat. The main effect of hydroponic height is real on all observation parameters. All main tiles give relatively the same results. The best treatment was the treatment of kale root and cocopeat growing media.
