Abstract
Well Kick is an event where formation fluid enters the borehole during drilling. If this kick cannot be controlled, it will result in a blowout. it is necessary to evaluate the countermeasure for well kicks, a lot of data must be recorded and calculated to analyze the kicks that occur and based on these calculation data it will be possible to decide the right method to deal with kicks so that blowouts do not occur. This research begins by knowing the magnitude of the drilling parameters such as ROP, WOB, RPM, and analyzes several indicators of signs of a kick. In an effort to overcome the kick this time using the driller's method, by means of two circulations where in the first circulation using old mud OMW (original mud weight) and in the second circulation using new mud or heavy mud KMW (kill mud weight). there are abnormal drilling data shown in the drilling parameters (such as ROP, WOB, RPM), the type and physical properties of the mud, the difference in SICP and SIDP values, the decrease in the mud pump pressure, the increase in the velocity of the mud flow in the circulation system and the increase in the volume of the drilling mud. in the mud tank, the cutting size increases, the ROP increases, the mud density decreases, the stroke rate increases in the mud pump. In overcoming the kick problem at well X field Y, the Driller's method is used with the following mechanism using 2 circulations. driller''s method is the most widely used because it has the advantage of handling well pressure (SICP) by releasing the pressure. Well kick, Well control, Driller method.
