Abstract
Basically, every parent has a perception that is very supportive of the existence of inclusive educational institutions. These parents’ perceptions expect that inclusive schools will help children strengthen their social skills and contribute to personality development, increase sensitivity to the needs of others and learn to accept and respect differences. Parents’ perceptions assume that the current goals of inclusive education have not worked in accordance with the goals of inclusive education itself, and even the learning methods taught are considered to equalize the way ABK students learn the same as regular students. The purpose of this study was to determine parents’ perceptions of teachers competence of inclusion classes at SDN X Pekanbaru City. The study population was 71 parents of students with special needs, all of whom were sampled using purposive sampling technique. Collecting data used scale of parents’ perceptions of teacher competence, then the data obtained were analyzed using percentage descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the analysis of this study, it can be concluded that the overall parents perception of teacher competence of inclusion classes at SDN X Pekanbaru City is classified as moderate.
