Abstract

Final year students are individuals who are experiencing various kinds of pressures and demands, both from within and outside the individual regarding the future such as education, career or work, mate, and so on. With these various demands, it can have an impact on psychological conditions, such as easily feeling anxiety, stress and depression. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between tawakal and quarter life crisis in final year students at Riau Islamic University. This study involved 402 samples of final year students at Riau Islamic University who were selected using a cluster sampling technique. This study uses a quantitative method where the measuring instrument used is the tawakal scale compiled by Sartika and Kurniawan (2015), and the quarter life crisis scale developed by Habibie, et al (2019). Based on the results of the Spearman rank order correlation test analysis, the correlation coefficient (r) = -0.465 was obtained with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that there is a significant negative correlation between tawakal and quarter life crisis in final year students at Riau Islamic University. The higher the tawakal of final year students, the lower the quarter life crisis will be and vice versa, the lower the tawakal, the higher will be the quarter life crisis of final year students.
