Abstract

The amount of oil reserves that can be removed and produced from the total reserves based on existing technology is referred to as recoverable reserve. Initially, recoverable reserves can be obtained from natural flow, after that it can also be assisted by the artificial lift method. This method is included in the primary recovery stage which utilizes the natural capabilities of the reservoir. However, continuous production and increasingly old fields make production decline inevitable and a decrease in recoverable reserves. The secondary recovery method is an advanced method that aims to optimize and increase the recoverable reserve. Water injection is an activity process in injecting water into the formation which is expected to be able to push oil out towards production wells so that later it will increase the value of the recoverable reserve. In addition, this activity can also maintain and maintain the existing reservoir pressure, commonly referred to as pressure maintenance
