Abstract

This study aimed to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of water hyacinth Bokashi and NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.). The research was carried out in an experimental garden at the Islamic University of Riau, Pekanbaru, for 5 months from January to May 2022. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was water hyacinth bokashi with 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 225, 450 and 675 g/plant. The second factor of NPK 16:16:16 consisted of 4 treatment levels 0, 3.5, 7 and 10.5 g/plant. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvesting age, number of productive branches, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant and amount of remaining fruit. Observational data were analyzed statistically and carried out by Follow-Up Test for Honest Significant Differences (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of water hyacinth Bokashi and NPK 16:16:16 had a significant effect on plant height, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant and productive branches. The best treatment was found in the administration of Bokashi water hyacinth 675 g/plant. The main effect of giving NPK 16:16:16 has a significant effect on all observation parameters. The best treatment was NPK 16:16:16 10.5 g/plant.
