Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the amount of water loss and the value of irrigation efficiency that occured in the Tertiary -2 Channel of the Simandolak -2 Irrigation Area without taking into account the process of water loss. The water losswas analyzed using the inflow – outflow method. The data needed in this research is primary data in the form of water velocity, water depth, and water surface width.In addition, secondary data is also used in the form of building schemes and irrigation networks, as well as a map of the location of irrigation areas obtained from the Sumatra River Region III. From the calcution analysis, it was found that the value of water loss. Meanwhile, based on measurements made for 15 days, it was obtained that the analysis of the overall calculation of water loss in the tertiary channel with a percenage of 38,5 % and theefficiency valu of the tertiary channel of 61,5 %.
