Abstract
Analysis of Production and Marketing Efficiency of Tilapia in Pangean District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Under the Guidance of Heriyanto, S.P., M.Si. Tilapia business is a business that has economic value and high demand. This business must be encouraged by increasing production, one of which is by optimizing production input factors. This study aims to analyze: (1) Characteristics of tilapia farmers, (2) Cultivation techniques, use of production factors, production costs, income, and farming efficiency, (3) Dominant factors affecting tilapia production, (4) Technical efficiency, allocative efficiency and economic efficiency and (5) Marketing performance. This research was conducted in Pangean District, Kuantan Singingi Regency from March to August 2023. The method used in this research is the survey method. Respondents were taken using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique, namely 45 samples. Data analysis was done by descriptive and multiple non-linear regression with Cobb- Douglas function and efficiency analysis. The results showed: (1) The characteristics of tilapia farmers in Pangean District are the average age of farmers 39 years, the average length of education 9 years, the average number of family dependents 3 people, and the average farming experience of 7 years. (2) On average, tilapia farming techniques in Pangean District have been carried out in accordance with the theory. The use of production factors in tilapia farming in Pangean Subdistrict are pond area, seeds, PF500 feed, STP feed, medicines, lime and labour. In one production period, the average farmer incurs production costs of Rp 26.871.034,07. Average production was 1.670,44 kg. Total revenue was Rp 46.772.444,44 and net income was Rp 19.901.410,38. (3) Significant factors affecting tilapia production in Pangean Subdistrict are seeds and STP feed. While land area, PF500 feed, medicine, lime, and labor are insignificant and have no real effect on tilapia production. (4) Tilapia farmers are not technically, allocative, and economically efficient. Farmers should increase the use of production inputs to be efficient, so as to increase farmers' income optimally. (5) There are two marketing channels for tilapia in Pangean Subdistrict, channel I from farmers directly to final consumers, and channel II farmers-collecting traders-retailers-final consumers. Total marketing costs in channel I Rp 104,05/kg and channel II Rp 938,00/kg. The total marketing profit of Channel I is Rp 11.809,73 and Channel II is Rp 6.841,00. Channel I is more efficient than channel II with efficiency values of 0,37% and 2,62%, respectively.
