Abstract
student of the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, who has conducted research entitled "EFFECT OF THE USING OF SEA ALGAE (Caulerpa racemosa) EXTRACT WITH DIFFERENT DOSAGES ON THE ANESTHESIA OF TILAPIA SEEDS (Oreochromis niloticus) IN CLOSED TRANSPORTATION" below. guided by Mr. Jarod SetiajI, ??s.Pi., M.Sc. This research was conducted for 1 day at the Fish Seed Center (BBI), Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. This study aims to determine how many doses of marine algae extract (Caulerpa racemosa) are used so that it is safe as an anesthetic agent for tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) seeds. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely: P1 = administration of marine algae extract at a dose of (1 ml/liter), P2 = administration of marine algae extract at a dose of 2 ml/liter, P3 = Administration of marine algae extract at a dose of 3 ml/liter, P4 = Administration of marine algae extract at a dose of 4 ml/liter and P4 = Administration of marine algae extract at a dose of 2 ml/liter. Tilapia seed is a hatchery obtained from a hatchery at Mr. Markam's place, Jalan Kesehatan, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru with a size of 5-7 cm. The number of tilapia seeds used was 150 tails. In each experiment using 10 tilapia fry. The container used in this study was a polyethylene (PE) plastic bag with a size of 35 x 45 cm filled with 3 liters/bag of water, then the PE plastic was placed into a 35 x 25 x 35 cm styrofoam as a transport container. Administration of marine algae extract (Caulerpa racemosa) with different doses had no significant effect on the survival of tilapia (O. niloticus) fry. The highest survival rate of tilapia seeds in the anesthetization experiment using marine algae extract was treatment P4 at a dose of 4 ml/liter with an average survival rate of 96.67%, while the lowest survival was found in treatment P1 at a dose of 1 ml/liter with a survival rate of 23, 33%. P4 treatment at a dose of 4 ml/liter is the best and safe dose for anesthetizing tilapia (O. niloticus) seeds. Water quality parameters in this study were temperature ranging from 28-33 oC, pH values ??ranging from 5-7, dissolved oxygen ranging from 4.5-6.0 ppm and ammonia ranging from 0.58-9.78 ppm.
