Abstract

ABSTRACT Yandri Saputra. 2020. Student Motivation in Taking Physical Education Learning During the Covid-19 Pandemic The purpose of this study was to find out how much motivation students in class IX had in learning physical education during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this study was students of class IX at SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru, totaling 382 students. The sampling technique is a sample of looking at the list of absences in each class and taking multiples of 4 on the list of absences per class with a sample size of 40 students. The motivational indicators in the questionnaire were divided into 6 indicators, namely: 1) taking part in physical education lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic, 2) attitudes towards the difficulties of learning physical education online, 3) efforts to overcome difficulties learning physical education online, 4) enthusiasm in taking lessons online physical education, 5) completing assignments, 6) using opportunities outside class hours. The number of initial statements was designed to be 40 statement items and after the validity test became 25 statement items. The results of this study are students' motivation in participating in physical education lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru with an average of 76% in the good category.
