Abstract

Teaching materials encompass structured materials used in the learning process to illustrate skills to be learned by students, including module formats. This research aims to describe the analysis of students' needs for teaching materials in the form of hydroponic modules based on research findings. The study population consists of students who have taken hydroponics courses. Sampling involved 31 students using simple random sampling. This descriptive research aims to determine the needs for developing research-based modules for hydroponics learning and providing more optimal learning facilities. Research instruments included questionnaires for teachers' and students' needs, observation, interviews, and documentation. Descriptive statistical analysis was used for data analysis. The analysis revealed that students' needs for research-based hydroponic module teaching materials averaged 76%, indicating a good category, suggesting that most students found the modules based on research met their needs well. Additionally, the questionnaire measuring teachers' needs for the modules showed positive results, with an average percentage of 79% in the good category. This indicates that teachers also see the value and usefulness of the research-based hydroponic modules in supporting their teaching processes. Thus, the data analysis suggests that both from students' and teachers' perspectives, the research-based hydroponic module teaching materials are considered sufficiently effective and relevant to meet the needs in the learning process.
