Abstract

Clay soil is a type of soft soil because it has a low carrying capacity. The clay used in the study was taken from Sail Village, Tenay an Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. This study aims to determine the effect of mixed variations in the form of palm fiber ash and lime as a material for stabilization in clay soils and the most optimum CBR value in clay soils after being stabilized using mixed variations. The use of palm fiber ash as an added ingredient is due to the abundance of palm fiber waste. Percentage of the use of palm fiber ash additives with varying levels of 6%, 9%, 12% lime and 9% lime for all variations of the mixture calculated based on the dry weight of the soil under 4 days of unsoaked conditions and 0 soaked conditions. , 4, 7 days. Based on the research that has been done, the results of the original soil CBR testing with curing conditions of 0 days are 6.23% and 4 days of immersion are 3.42%. At 0 day ripening conditions with variations in the use of added ingredients of palm fiber ash 6%, 9%, 12% and 9% lime, the results obtained sequentially were 10.56%, 12.72%, 16.30%. At 4 days ripening conditions obtained 13.30%, 10.86%, 19.94%. In the 7 day ripening condition the CBR values obtained were 12.62%, 10.03%, 15.97%. The CBR value at curing conditions tended to increase, at the percentage of fiber ash 9% curing 4 days and 7 days the CBR value decreased compared to the percentage of 6% fiber ash, but it was still above the original soil CBR value. Whereas in the 4 days of immersion conditions with variations in the use of added ingredients, palm fiber ash 6%, 9%, 12% and 9% lime, the CBR values were 4.61%, 7.10%, 6.70%. In the immersion condition there was an increase in the percentage of 9% palm fiber ash compared to the percentage of 6% and 12% ash fiber. The optimum CBR value is found in 4 days of curing conditions with a variation of 12% fiber ash + 9% lime. It can be concluded that the addition of palm fiber ash can be utilized in the stabilization mixture of clay soil.Clay Soil, Oil Palm Fiber Ash, CBR, Stabilization.
