Abstract
Concrete is a mixture of Portland cement or other hydraulic cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water or without added materials that form a solid mass. With age, concrete will harden more and more and reach plan strength at 28 days of age. Along with the development of knowledge and technology, concrete is developed and improved in quality to be better so that high-quality concrete is made that has more capabilities than normal concrete. Concrete has a very important role because almost every building that is erected requires concrete work. In general, concrete constituent materials consist of cement, aggregate and water which causes strong chemical bonds between these materials based (SNI- 03-2847-2002). This research method uses the Self healing concrete method. This study used 15 cylindrical samples. This method is carried out by adding Bacillus Subtilis bacteria that have been processed at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Department of Biology, FMIPA Universitas Riau. The percentage used is 10% of the weight of cement. Results are made in the form of compressive strength, tensile strength, and Scanning Electronic Microscope (SEM) testing each stage will be attached to the crack observation documentation. From the results of the study, the use of Bacillus Subtilis bacteria as a concrete agent Self healing Concrete for the ability of normal concrete compressive strength results aged 28 days normal concrete without Bacillus Subtilis bacteria has an average value of 20.38 Mpa, in with the addition of Bacillus Subtilis bacteria has an average of 13.28 Mpa, and in with the addition of Bacillus Subtilis bacteria after cracking has an average value of 18.40 Mpa.
