Abstract
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF U-TURN ON URBAN ROAD TRAFFIC FLOW (CASE STUDY: MTQ FRONT NETWORK SECTION, PEKANBARU) R.Okta Utari Warman 153110574 ABSTRACT Jalan Jendral Sudirman is one of the main roads in Pekanbaru City because several government agencies are located on this road such as the office of the Governor of Riau Province, the Office Mayor of Pekanbaru, MTQ Pekanbaru Full Field, and Hospital. In addition, this road is also one of the accesses to Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport. This study aims to determine the characteristics of traffic flow and U-turn performance on Jalan Jendral Sudirman (front braided section of MTQ). The data needed in this study are primary data from field surveys and secondary data from government agencies or the private sector. This research uses the 1997 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) method. This research was conducted on Friday 10 June 2022, Sunday 12 June 2022, and Monday 13 June 2022 during morning rush hours, namely 06.00-08.00 WIB, afternoon 11.00-13.00 WIB and afternoon 16.00-18.00 WIB. From the data and results of the analysis it is known that the population of Pekanbaru City in 2021 is 1,007,540 people, the geometric of the road is 6 lanes 2 directions divided (6/2 D), the width of each lane is 3.75 m, the effective width is 11.25 m. Road performance at peak hours has a volume of 6084.3 pcu/hour with a maximum average speed of 36.30 km/hour, and density for road performance is 420.098 pcu/km with a capacity of 5148 pcu/hour.performance U-turn during peak hours with a volume of 2415.6 pcu/hour with an average travel time of vehicles making U-turns of 9.38 km/h at a density of 257.552 pcu/km with a degree of saturation of 1.16 and a level of Jendral Sudirman's road service is included in category F with conditions that the flow is forced, the speed is low, the volume is above capacity, and the queue is long (jammed).U-turn, Performance U-turn, Road Performance
