Abstract

The research entitled “Response of Various Varieties of Lettuce (Lactuca Sativa L.) To Stocking Density of Water of Dumbo Catfish (Clarias gareiepinus) Ponds in the NFT Aquaponics System”. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Km 11 No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The research was conducted for 2 months from September to November 2021. The design used in this study was a Split Plot Design in the form of a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the Stocking Density of the Dumbo Catfish consisting of 4 levels, namely AB-Mix, 25, 50, and 75 fish/m3 per pond and the second factor was Various Varieties of Lettuce consisting of 4 levels namely Batavian lettuce, romaine lettuce, red lettuce, and curly lettuce per variety. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, root length, root volume, economic wet weight per plant, and root canopy ratio. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ follow-up test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of stocking density of African catfish and various varieties of lettuce had an effect on the number of leaves, root length, root volume, economic wet weight per plant, and root canopy ratio. The best treatment was found in the stocking density of African catfish 50 individuals/m3 and the batavia lettuce variety. The main effect of African catfish stocking density was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is 50 fish/m3. The main effect of various varieties of lettuce is real on all observation parameters. The best treatment was the batavia variety of lettuce.
