Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Trichocompost and POC of Cow Blood Waste on the growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 3 months, starting from September - November 2020. The design used was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was the dose of Trikocompost (T) which consisted of 4 treatment levels and the second factor was Cow Blood Waste (D) which consisted of 4 levels and 16 treatment combinations consisting of 3 replications, so that 48 experimental plots were obtained. Where each plot consists of 16 plants, and 6 plants as a sample, so that a total of 768 plants is obtained. The data were analyzed statistically and continued with the honest significant difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results of the study concluded that the interaction of trichocompost and cow blood waste had an effect on the number of tubers per hill, the weight of wet tubers per hill, the weight of dry tubers per hill, the weight of dry tubers per tuber and the percentage of tuber losses. The best treatment combination was (T3D2) trichocompost dose of 2.25 kg/plot and bovine blood waste 300 ml/L of water, the main effect of giving trichocompost affected the relative growth rate, plant height and harvest age. The best treatment was (T3) trichocompost dose of 2.25 kg/plot, the main effect of giving bovine blood waste was the relative growth rate, plant height and harvest age. The best treatment for relative growth rate and plant height is (D2) dose of bovine blood waste 300 ml/L of water. While the best treatment for the age of harvest is (D3) a dose of 450 ml/L of water.
