Abstract
This study aims to produce a product, namely a math problem in the form of a four-tier diagnostic test on comparative material that is proven valid and practical, and is able to identify students' understanding of concepts. The type of research used is research and development or Research and Development (R&D). The research data collection instruments were product validation sheets, response questionnaire sheets, and student answer sheets. The data collection technique used was validation data from 2 experts and 1 practitioner, namely a lecturer and 1 math teacher. The data obtained are from the practicality of teacher and student response questionnaires, as well as data from student test results. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis to see the validity and practicality of the instruments developed. From the research results, it was obtained that the product validation results were 0.8 in the very valid category, and the results of the practicality test were 82% in the very practical category for student response questionnaires, and 83% in the very practical category for teacher response questionnaires. From the results of the study, a product was obtained, namely a Four-Tier Diagnostic Test on Comparative Material that had been tested for its validity and practicality, and can be used to detect students' understanding of concepts.
