Abstract

Development of Traditional Medicinal Plant Module Postpartum in Malay Community in Dumai City as Teaching Material on Biodiversity Material for Grade X High School DEWI SURIANI NPM. 186510552 Thesis of Biology Education Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Riau Islamic University Supervisor : Dr. Ibnu Hajar, S.Pd., M.P ABSTRACT This study aims to produce a teaching material module on traditional medicinal plants postpartum in Malay community in Dumai City as teaching material on biodiversity material for grade X high school. This research is a research and development or Research and Development (R&D) with the Plomp 2013 Model, this model consists of 3 research phases, namely: Preliminary Research, Development Phase or Prototype (prototyping phase), and Assessment Phase (assessment phase), but in this study it is limited to the development or prototype stage. This study used 15 students as subjects from each school with a total of 45 students and the subjects for data collection of traditional medicinal plants were village midwives. The results of the study at the stage of diversity of types of traditional medicinal plants after childbirth (Post Partum) in the Malay community in Dumai City, there are 18 types of traditional medicinal plants that are used as traditional medicine for postpartum mothers. The results of this study indicate that the quality of the validity of the teaching material module based on the results of the validation of material experts got an average of 91,66% (very valid), the results of the validation of media experts got an average of 100% (very valid), the results of the validation of four learning experts got an average of 98,33% (very valid), and the total results of the six experts were 96,66% (very valid). The results of the student questionnaire got an average of 85,64% (very good), based on several categories, it can be concluded that the learning module developed is very valid and can be used as teaching materials that can help the learning process of students.
