Abstract

This research was correlational quantitative research. This research was motivated by lack of students’ learning interest in Islamic education lesson. This research focused on was there any influence of teacher’s pedagogic competency on students’ learning interest in Islamic education lesson at junior high school 1 Sungai Apit, Sungai Apit sub - district Siak - Riau. The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of teacher’s pedagogic competency on students’ learning interest in Islamic education lesson at junior high school 1 Sungai Apit , Sungai Apit sub - district Siak - Riau . The subject used in this research was all class VIII students at junior high school 1 Sungai Apit in 35 students. This research consisted of two variables that was pedagogic competency (variable X) and l earning interest (variable Y). R esearch finding showed that there was any influence of Islamic education teacher’s pedagogic competency on students’ learning interest in Islamic education lesson. It could be seen from data comp utation result by using IBM SPSS statistic for windows that simple regression result that was got significant score smaller than 0.05 where 0.001 < 0.05. Thus, research hypothesis about there was any influence of Islamic education teacher’s pedagogic compe tency on students’ learning interest in Islamic education lesson at junior high school 1 Sungai Apit, Sungai Apit sub - district Siak - Riau was accepted. The influence score between pedagogic competency (variable X0 gave contribution in 28.4% on learning int erest (variable Y), meanwhile 71.6% Islamic education lesson learning interest was influenced by others variable that did not research yet. It meant that the influence of Islamic education teacher’s pedagogic competency on students’ learning interest in Is lamic education at junior high school 1 Sungai Apit, Sungai Apit sub - district Siak - Riau classified into “low” category.Pedagogic Competency, Islamic Education Learning Interest
