Abstract

THE EFFORTS OF TEACHERS IN INTERNALIZING MORALS THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA AT SMPN 1 MINAS IN PEKANBARU BY: YUWI ACHMA CHARNILO 182410225 The problem of the study is how the efforts of Islamic Studies teachers in internalizing noble moral values to students through social media at SMPN 1 Minas of Pekanbaru city. Based on the problems, the aim of the study is to investigate the efforts of Islamic Studies teachers in internalizing noble moral values to students through social media at SMPN 1 Minas. This is a qualitative study, it means that the study is carried out by observing phenomena around and analyzing them by using scientific logic. The approach of the qualitative study is by applying descriptive qualitative method which aims to describe systematically and accurately of the certain facts and characteristics. The results of the study show that the efforts of Islamic Studies teacher in internalizing noble moral values to the students are as follows: First, the Islamic Studies teachers attend earlier to check the readiness of students before studying at school in front of the gate. Second, the Islamic Studies teachers check each class to make sure that there is already a teacher teaching in the class. Third, the Islamic Studies teachers provide advice and motivation in developing the social media. Fourth, the Islamic Studies teachers collaborate with non-Muslim religious teachers to work together in improving the students’ morals by posting positive contents on social media. Fifth, the Islamic Studies teachers take an individual approach to each student regarding the importance of maintaining good morals in social media. Sixth, the Islamic Studies teachers create a character building team with other teachers. Seventh, the Islamic Studies teachers create special classes for Muslim students in the prayer room, regarding to the faith and piety to build the positive minds. Eighth, the Islamic Studies teachers always go home later to check the school conditions.Teachers’ Efforts, Internalizing Morals
