Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF REWARD AND PUNISHMENT METHOD ON LEARNING OUTCOMES OF ISLAMIC STUDIES AT SMKN 01 PANGKALAN KURAS, PELALAWAN REGENCY AYU LESTARI 182410068 The background of the study is the low outcomes in learning Islamic Studies of students at SMKN 01 Pangkalan Kuras, Pelalawan Regency. The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of reward and punishment method on learning outcomes of Islamic Studies at SMKN 1 Pangkalan Kuras, Pelalawan Regency. This is a quantitative study with a correlational approach. The sample of the study consists of 87 respondents. The data collection technique of the study is the questionnaires and the data analysis techniques are normality test and hypothesis testing consisting of T-test, one-way ANOVA and linear regression. The results of the study show that the level of teachers’ mastery on the reward and punishment method in the perception of students and the learning outcomes of Islamic Studies is in the high category. There are differences in the use of reward and punishment method based on the parents’ occupation and there is no difference in the use of teacher reward and punishment method based on the background of students of their genders, classes, and previous schools. In the results of the study, there is no difference in the learning outcomes of students in Islamic Studies based on gender, class, previous school and parents' occupation. Other results show that there is an influence of the reward and punishment method on the learning outcomes of Islamic Studies at SMKN 01 Pangkalan Kuras with a significance value of 0.000. The magnitude of the influence is (0.593 or 59.3%). In conclusion, the reward and punishment method influences the learning outcomes of Islamic Studies at SMKN 01 Pangkalan Kuras, Pelalawan Regency.Reward and punishment method, Learning Outcomes of Islamic Studies, and Students.
