Abstract
This study aims to find out how the myths contained in Javanese traditional wedding photos in Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis. Because not all people know the myths that are contained in the wedding customs. And this researcher uses qualitative methods with the aim of gaining an understanding of the general nature of data collection techniques and interviews and documentation. There were 2 informants in this study, namely the first was a lecturer/practitioner in the field of Visual Arts, the second was a chairman of the APFI, a professional photographer. This study uses semotic analysis to examine a sign and a signifier, and there is also significance by the order of the marking, there is a denotative and connotative meaning in order to find out the meaning of a sign and a signifier. Basically the myths contained in this Javanese traditional marriage are only known by people in the environment, many outsiders do not know about it. And there is also Roland Barthes who said that a myth is something that cannot be proven or is invisible, therefore a myth is not necessarily the truth.
