Abstract
Divorce is one of the factors causing the large number of single parents in Indonesia. Single parent which means doing household chores by themselves without having a member or head of the family and also being a parent (being the father or mother in the family). The purpose of this research is to determine the dynamics of psychological subjective well being on a single parent. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of two single parents aged 20-30 years who had children. This research was conducted in Kerinci Kanan sub-district, Siak district, Riau Province. Data collection was carried out by means of interviews, observation and psychological test tools such as graphic tests, SCCT, and EPPS. Psychological test data processing to the interpretation of the psychological test kit so that it can describe the psychological dynamics of the subject of this study in a qualitative research procedure using a case study approach, assisted by professional psychologists. The dynamics of subjective well-being psychology in single perent includes satisfaction with life and positive emotions possessed by informants who are very dominant, so that the subject has lived a single parent life with greater positives than negative ones. Satisfaction with life includes 3 (three) factors, namely economic factors, religious factors, and social factors. While the dominant positive emotions possessed by the participants were feelings of happiness and making children happy.
