Abstract

Oil palm workers are freelance financial workers whose income is below the regional minimum wage. Some palm oil workers are able to evoke a sense of positive emotion that creates feelings of gratitude. Gratitude is an important aspect of positive psychology to increase happiness. Gratitude is necessary for each individual activity or work, because gratitude has a positive impact on palm oil workers. This study aims to find out how gratitude is shown to oil palm workers through aspects of gratitude. This research method is descriptive with a phenomenological approach. To collect data using interviews and observation. There were 2 informants in this study who were freelance oil palm workers in Perhentian Raja District. The results of the study found that the two informants had positive emotions that led to gratitude. The tendency of gratitude in oil palm workers is to act positively based on a sense of appreciation, compassion for children and partners and other people involved, have high self-acceptance, and have satisfaction in life so as to encourage the development of feelings of happiness.
