Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction, the characteristics of the respondents are husbands who have working wives. This study uses quantitative research. The research subjects were 137 respondents in a company engaged in the processing of palm oil in Pelalawan, Riau, using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection used the Interpersonal Communication scale questionnaire from Arimadhon (2021) with 19 items and Marital Satisfaction developed by Batubara (2017) with 50 items. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression with the help of the IBM Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) 24.00 For Windows program. The results of data processing obtained a score of R = 0.805 with a very strong category, the level of strength of interpersonal communication relationships on marital satisfaction is very strong. To see from the contribution of interpersonal communication to marital satisfaction, which is equal to R2 = 0.648, this means that 64.8 percent of interpersonal communication contributes to increasing marital satisfaction.
