Abstract
College students are still classified as teenagers who compare their situation with ideal conditions in society. In achieving this, students try to be accepted in their environment in various ways, including in the field of beauty, such as buying and using skincare products. This study aims to determine a significant relationship between conformity and consumptive behavior in purchasing skincare online shopd among students at the Islamic University of Riau. The sample in this study was 346 students at Riau Islamic University. The method in this study used a purposive sampling technique and data collection used a Likert scale with a Conformity scale consisting of 23 valid items (?= 0.808) and a valid Consumptive Behavior scale of 22 items (?= 0.778). The coefficient of determination of correlation in this study is 0.357 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The results of the hypothesis from this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between conformity and consumptive behavior in buying skincare online shop among Riau Islamic University students of 12.7%.
