The amount of pressure in life makes individuals need a break from busyness which is a source of stress, this encourages individuals to look for something that can divert their minds and try to entertain themselves by playing online games, but gaming activities are carried out with increasing intensity from time to time without the ability Good self-control can lead individuals to addiction. This study aims to determine the relationship between Self-Control and online game addiction in early adulthood in Pekanbaru by involving 191 samples selected through the Purposive Sampling technique. The data analysis method using Pearson Product Moment obtained a correlation value (r) of -0.597 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05, and a coefficient of determination R2 of 0.3564. This shows that there is a negative and significant relationship between self-control variables and online game addiction. Self-control makes an effective contribution of 35.64% to online game addiction in early adulthood in Pekanbaru and the remaining 64.36% is influenced by other factors.
