Abstract

Many students think that completing a thesis is a process that is quite difficult, one of the factors that makes students experience difficulties is the lack of involvement of those closest to them to provide support. Having a strong social support system is one way to give yourself a fighting chance. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between social support and adversity quotient on students of the Faculty Engineering of Riau Islamic University students who are completing the thesis. The sampling technique uses Probability Sampling. The data collection method uses the Social Support scale compiled by Ulfa (2018), totaling 35 items and the Fighting Power scale compiled by Herawaty (2013), totaling 48 items. Data analysis used the Pearson Moment Product Correlation Test, the results obtained were a significant relationship with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.244 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05), namely there was a significant relationship between social support and the fighting spirit of students of the Faculty of Engineering, Islamic University Riau, who is currently completing her thesis.
