Abstract

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN RELIGIOSITY AND QUARTER-LIFE CRISIS IN SENIOR YEAR STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITAS ISLAM RIAU (UIR) Novis Krisma Irvi 188110065 FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY UNIVERSITAS ISLAM RIAU ABSTRACT Senior year students as early adult individuals are facing a great deal of choices and responsibilities. At the moment, students are vulnerable to emotional crisis as a response to constant changes in various aspects of life. Quarter-life crisis is a term used to describe an emotional crisis that occurs during the transition from adolescence to early adults (emerging adulthood). This study aims to determine the relationship between religiosity and quarter-life crisis in seniorl year students at Universitas Islam Riau (UIR). The data collection method used in this study is the religiosity scale consists of 26 items and was developed based on five dimensions proposed by Glock and Stark, and the quarter-life crisis scale consists of 29 items and was developed based on seven aspects proposed by Robins and Wilner. Correspondence was submitted by 396 final year students at Universitas Islam Riau which was determined using quota sampling technique. The data analysis method used is Pearson's Product Moment. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant negative relationship between quarter-life crisis and religiosity with a value of (r) -0.469 and a significance coefficient of 0.000 (p <0.05). This means, the higher the religiosity is followed by the lower the level of quarter-life crisis for final year students.
