Abstract
One of the factors that can influence the problem solving of an individual is emotional maturity. Therefore, the aim of this research is to find out the relationship between emotional maturity and emotion focused coping in Pekanbaru students. The research design used in this research is correlational quantitative. The total population in this study was 113,312 students in Pekanbaru, with a total sample of 398 people. In this study using a non-probability sampling method, namely purposive sampling. The measurement tools used are the emotion focused coping scale (?=0.890) and the emotional maturity scale (?=0.929). The results of this study show that the subject has emotional maturity as well as emotion focused coping abilities which are in the medium or medium category. The method used to analyze the hypothesis test in order to find out whether there is a relationship between emotional maturity (variable independent) and emotion focused coping (variable dependent) in Pekanbaru students is the Pearson Product Moment method, so that the results are (r=0.440 and p=0.000<0.05). So this shows that there is a positive relationship between emotional maturity and emotion focused coping so that the hypothesis proposed is accepted.
