Abstract

This research is motivated by the conflicts found in literary works, especially novels, that arise because of the presence of characters who have an important role in conveying the message of the story to the reader. A novel has characters with different characteristics and traits. The problem in this research is how are the external conflicts and internal conflicts in the novel Rapijali 2 Become by Dee Lestari? How is the description of the character traits in the novel Rapijali 2 Become by Dee Lestari? The purpose of this research is to find out the external and internal conflicts of the characters in Rapijali 2 Becomes by Dee Lestari and find out how the characters are depicted in Dee Lestari's Rapijali 2 Becomes. The theory used in this research is theory (Nurgiyantoro, 2015), Saad dalam (Sukada, 1993) and other supporting theories. The data of this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs which show the character and character conflicts in the novel Rapijali 2 Become by Dee Lestari. This research uses a descriptive method with a type of library research and uses a qualitative approach. The data collection technique uses hermeneutic techniques and is analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of this study can be concluded that the results of data analysis in the novel Rapijali 2 by Dee Lestari above can be concluded that there is a conflict of characters and character. The character conflicts contained in the novel Rapijali 2 by Dee Lestari in the form of external (physical) conflicts were not found in data in this study, external social conflicts were found in 15 data and internal conflicts in 19 data and the author's way of describing the character contained in the novel Rapijali 2 by Dee Lestari there are analytically 15 data and dramatic 25 data.
