Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of deconstruction in folklore. Through this deconstruction study, it is hoped that there will be an understanding of the critical review of literary works and make a broad understanding to search for meaning in actual literary works. The problem in this research is: How is the deconstruction in the legends found in Indonesian folklore books? The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze and interpret deconstruction in Indonesian folklore books. The theory used in this study is the theory of Sikana (2005), Norris (2020) and other supporting theories. The research data is in the form of phonemes, words taken from Indonesian folklore books. This research uses a descriptive method with a type of research using a qualitative approach. The data collection technique uses hermeneutic techniques and is analyzed using content analysis techniques. Through an understanding of deconstruction, the meaning that has failed will become absolute. Meaning will always be updated through ways of reading that are also always updated and different from the previous ones, so deconstruction can be said to be a process. Deconstruction has undermined the regime of meaning which actually has the potential to dominate something and carry out certain ideologies. Therefore, the results of this study have the most dominant data in Indonesian folklore books, namely deconstruction in the concept of logocentrism, and the least are the concepts of grammatology, logocentrism, difference, text terms, dissemination. Meanwhile, phonocentrism and the writing itself (arche writing) were not found in data.
