Abstract

Strong encouragement from within a person is needed to achieve good attitudes and habits in the learning process. Self-regulation in learning is one way for students to manage their learning strategies. This study aims to determine the differences in self-regulation in learning in public junior high school students and private Mts students. The subjects of this study were 137 students of SMP Negeri 3 Pasir Penyu and 137 students of Private Mts Nurul Falah Air Molek. The sampling technique in this study used the Random Sampling technique. Data collection techniques use self-regulation scales in learning. The data analysis method used in this study is the independent sample t-test statistical analysis. The results showed that there were significant differences in self-regulation in the learning of public junior high school students and private MTs students with a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that the hypothesis in this study was accepted. There is a difference in self-regulation in learning for public junior high school students (mean 133.21) and private Mts students (mean 61.69). This means that self-regulation in public junior high school learning is better than private MTs students.
