Abstract

The quality of friendship needs to be strived for, because having a friend or making good friendships is considered important and fundamental. Friendship plays an important role in meeting individual social needs, friendship can be established because there is a closeness that is very familiar, there is a feeling of similarity to something and self-comfort. The research subjects were 116 people using random sampling technique. The data collection method used is Bukowski, Hoza and Boivin's friendship quality scale (Guarnieri, et al, 2010) which was adapted from Monica (2021). Analysis calculations were performed using the SPSS 21.00 For Windows computer program. Based on the results of research on the quality level of friendship among students at Riau Islamic University, it is in the very high category with a total of 38 people (32.8%), in the high category with a total of 59 people (50.9%), in the medium category with a total of 18 people (15 .5%), the low category with 1 person (0.9%) and no one is in the very low category.
